Per the British Society of Sexual Medicine (BSSM) guidelines on the role of androgens, “A free testosterone level below 0.225nmol/L provides supportive evidence for treatment with testosterone in the presence of appropriate symptoms. Please see the BSSM guidance for details.”

* The albumin is preset at 43g/L. If you are aware of the patient’s albumin, please adjust appropriately. If not, this preset should give you a relatively accurate estimate of free testosterone as long as the patient does not have significant ill health which may alter albumin.
